about About Us Now celebrating its 25th year, SPCastro, Inc. is a dynamic Program, Project and Construction Management Company operating in the Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines – East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), and now in the Middle East.

PHILIPPINES: SPCI’s QUALITY NICHE ISO 9002-certified since 2003, and to ISO 9001:2008 – the Philippines’ 1st in Project Management and the 2nd in Construction Management – and ISO 9001:2000 version-certified since 2003,; and recently to ISO 9001:2008, SPCI’s Philippine portfolio has firmly established itself in its chosen fields of specialization:

  • Healthcare
  • Hotels and Hospitality
  • Institutional Projects
  • His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei’s Special Projects
  • Other Projects

GLOBALIZATION THROUGH TECHNOLOGY AND CONTINUING EDUCATION Hand in hand with SPCI’s ISO 9001 and ISO 9002 Certifications, which confirm the world-class quality systems that are in place and allow the company to constantly deliver high-quality service, is its e-Commerce readiness. This makes the company even more efficient and timely in meeting the needs of its Clients – a factor that is crucial in a company that has simultaneous operations in different locations.

SPCI was founded in the Philippines in 1986 by the late Salvador Q. Castro, Sr., pioneer in the field of Project Management and son, Salvador P. Jr., the top man responsible for orchestrating 5,000 people from 30 nations towards the 1984 fast-tracked completion of Brunei Darussalam’s Istana Nurul Iman, His Majesty the Sultan’s palace, which the Guinness Book of World Records lists as the biggest palace in the world. In the early eighties, Salvador, Jr. served as the Country Head of the Brunei Darussalam – and later on Thailand – operations of the Philippines’ largest and most prestigious real estate company. He also served as Deputy Coordinator for Real Estate in Brunei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. It was during these highly-charged years that he gained the knowledge and expertise necessary to conduct business and complete projects successfully within the ASEAN.

SPCI spent its first decade of operations in Brunei Darussalam specializing in fast-track, institutional “trophy” projects, wherein time, cost and quality were strictly given equal importance. Such fast-tracked “trophy” projects included the Brunei International Convention Centre (finished in time for the 1989 ASEAN Ministerial Meeting), the Royal Regalia Building (completed in time for the Silver Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty The Sultan of Negara Brunei Darussalam’s Coronation), the Masjid Jame”Asr Hassanil Bolkiah (a spectacular golden-domed two-storey Sultan’s Mosque), and the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Kompleks (a mixed-use commercial complex that served as His Majesty The Sultan’s gift to his subjects on his 50th birthday).

Now SPCI forges ahead with its mission to provide an effective, pro-active approach in managing projects, in accordance with Client’s requirements and world-class standards, while maintaining its independence, impartiality and professional integrity. All these further serve as a confirmation of SPCI’s continuing commitment to deliver to each and every client only the highest standards of service and professionalism. Because for SPCastro, Inc. every project is a “trophy”.
